I've also given students the choice because some need to get their ideas out with paper and pencil while others are very tripped up by having to do that. I'm moving further and further toward allowing that student choice and personal responsibility for discovering what works best for them.middleschoolteachertoliteracycoachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02723130657428914024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1528270180049100451.post-6832644469057293692015-07-22T07:54:57.872-07:002015-07-22T07:54:57.872-07:00Hi Sarah! It's also a great reminder to me that I'd love to write a blog post for content area teachers on how to incorporate reading and writing.middleschoolteachertoliteracycoachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02723130657428914024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1528270180049100451.post-30821832086446920722015-07-18T15:18:15.147-07:002015-07-18T15:18:15.147-07:00Do yo have students hand write the Discovery Draft...Do yo have students hand write the Discovery Draft first and then type it into Google Classroom?Marian Bauernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1528270180049100451.post-6061901927637443872015-07-16T20:09:09.268-07:002015-07-16T20:09:09.268-07:00Just found my way to your blog, and I really loved...Just found my way to your blog, and I really loved this post! I think sometimes as teachers we teach or over emphasize the genres WE feel comfortable in, so I couldn't agree more about teaching across all genres of writing. That's what they do the best when training teachers in LC, getting us to see that you're never done learning! I am so thankful for that experience because it completely shifted the way I see teaching and coaching. I'm your newest blog follower!

Kaseymiddleschoolteachertoliteracycoachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02723130657428914024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1528270180049100451.post-12683819562841822992015-05-09T17:52:02.246-07:002015-05-09T17:52:02.246-07:00Great details! Thank you for sharing! You wrote one particular line that resonated with me, "The best part of being a reflective practitioner is that you have already accepted that you are NEVER at your destination to being the best possible teacher. You will be on a CONSTANT learning journey." I couldn't agree with you more. As an educator we must constantly try to be the best we can be and there is ALWAYS room to grow. I recently blogged about this exact topic on my new blog, Literacy Coach Musings! You can check it out if you'd like at https://literacycoachmusings.wordpress.com/. Thanks, again!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
